Eyelash Extensions Review

Soooooooo last week I got this crazy idea to do eyelash extensions.. And planned to get them done yesterday and so I did. I'd read a lot on the internet and watched a lot of videos on how people do these things before I went to do it, but one difference in the videos I watched and the ones I had was that they usually attached one single eyelash to one of your own eyelashes, whereas for this they actually attach a small clump (3-5 lashes) and create a layer before attaching some individual longer lashes (supposedly to create a more natural effect). From what I see when I look in the mirror I don't actually think they attached it to my real lashes but to my eyelids. Which is creepy and also very frustrating as I'm not very satisfied with the finished look but well I'll just wait and see if it starts to look better.

The whole procedure was pretty fuss-free, just lay there and they'll stick on the extensions for you. (Not much pain, just a bit of poking feeling when they stick the lashes) When I first got up and opened my eyes they stung, and the lady said that this was probably because the glue hadn't dried yet so I closed them again and blew the lashes with the mini fan they had there until they were all dried up and then they didn't hurt anymore at all.

(do not ask me why my under-eye mini wrinkles in the 'before' picture are non-existant in this picture)

Mom says she prefers my original falsies as compared to these. Haha. Because of the variance in the length of the lashes!! Which I totally agree. It looks better and more natural if lashes are shorter toward the middle and longer towards the sides, but for this it's just long throughout which makes it so.. weird. I wonder if there's anywhere else in SG that does individual lash extensions?

Anyway some of the things that are no-nos about extensions is that you can't rub your eyes, pull out your lashes, etc etc which I'm already pretty used to since I use fake lashes so often. Not using an oil-based cleanser is gonna be a problem for me cause I've been using Fancl's mild cleansing oil for forever and any other cleanser might be too strong for my eyes (pretty sensitive and very dry AND prone to allergies) I was surprised (considering they stuck the lashes on my eyelids) that I didn't really get any painful reactions or swelling/itchiness after it was done.

So many were excited to see the extensions I had to webcam 3 people in the same night! I guess anyone who wants to do this has to first try fake lashes and get used to them.. Otherwise it's gonna be really difficult to maintain and get used to! Oh and another very surprising thing is that the lashes are HARD. As compared to fake lashes, they are really really hard and stiff. However I read online that they usually soften after 2 weeks so we'll see how it goes..

Overall I'd say it wasn't an unpleasant experience but I'm really not liking the look of it so I probably wouldn't do this again. If I do find somewhere that has thinner and more natural looking lashes that does individual extensions, I'd probably try that if my finances permit. Haha. And thanks to bb who assured me that they were pretty so that I wouldn't cry over them at the shop. (I was so sad cause it was really not what I was expecting) Feeling them now I think they have become a little softer than yesterday. Woah yesterday was friggin hard like toothpicks!!!

Holy shit I just teared from my morning sinus and wanted to rub my eye and was greeted with a haystack to my hands!!! HAHAHA ok bye time for some food
